Suwannee County and the surrounding area has some of the best place to enjoy outdoor activities. There are endless miles of trails for pedestrians and equestrians. For people that love to be on or in the water, we have, of course, the Suwannee River which borders the west side of the county. The Suwannee River Water District keeps and maintains many boat launches, springs, lakes, rivers and tributaries. Wildlife management areas are popular with hunters who find an abundance of white tailed deer, wild turkey and hogs. There are many opportunities to picnic, observe and photograph wildlife and natural spaces.
